Oruha's gift isn't powerful, but it is profound. She knows when she will die and that has to be very difficult. It can't be something that is easy to deal with.

She was afraid to ever love anyone or anything because she was always aware that it would end much too soon. Most people go through life vaguely aware that they would die someday, but it seems so far off that they don't think about it much. Oruha didn't have the luxary. She couldn't help but think about her death.

Eventually she loves Kazuhiko, singing, and, finally, Suu. She hides her power from Kazuhiko so that he doesn't have to worry about it, but sometimes she becomes really sad when she thinks about it. She tells Suu about her power and even tells her that she is going to die on her birthday. She suffers because she knows she is going to loose everything, but happiness, to her, is worth all the pain that comes with it.

Oruha inspires Suu to find her own happiness at even the steepest cost.
