Enju

Enju was a pretty girl who with a kind heart and a rather sad story. She is quiet and serene, and of the moon women, she is the most maternal. Still, she is quite passionate, especially in regards to Gyokuran, the man she falls in love with.

The two met in school and were a couple when they were assigned to the moon. At the first meeting, Gyokuran fell in love with Mokuren and Enju was pushed aside. They stayed close and she remained in love with him until the very end. When Mokuren ends up with Shion, they become a couple once again, but the relationship is probably quite painful for Enju who knows her lover would rather be with another.

Her best friend is Shusuran, who doesn’t approve of her continued dedication to Gyokuran. Shusuran believes that she should give up on Gyokuran and move on instead of pining for a person who is in love with another. She cares for her friend deeply and doesn’t want to see her hurt as she has been in so many of her relationships. She doesn’t change much when she is reincarnated as Sakura.

Of all the people on the moon base, Shion is nicest to Enju. Perhaps he understands her desire to have something she never will have. He uses his powers to speak to her, even kindly teasing her that they should be a couple. She brings him food after he rapes Mokuren, but even she is angry at him for what he did.

When Gyokuran dies, she loses it and also wants to die, but those who commit suicide do not get to be reincarnated. She blames Shion for his death since he hated him so much, but Shion just feels bad for her. She eventually dies and reincarnates as a boy so she can still be close to Gyokuran, but will be able to move on and find someone else.
