Kasama Haruhiko

Dark skin. Black hair. Gorgeous eyes. Haruhiko is extremely handsome—even more handsome than Shion, the person his previous incarnation most wanted to be like. What was dark, brooding, and cold in Shion’s looks, is softened in Haru’s beauty. Still, he did something wrong and pays the price by having an extremely weak heart. Haruhiko has had memories of the moon for most of his life, only he doesn’t quite believe they are real.

Haru is extremely powerful as an ESPer, but his weak heart makes it very difficult to use his powers. He can teleport, create big blasts of energy, produce protective barriers, and use some level of telepathy, but the effort exhausts him and could eventually kill him. He only uses his powers in times of great need, even though people tell him not to use them at all.

He meets Rin because of Tamura, who saved him some time back. Sensing that Tamura is in trouble, Haru teleports to the abandoned warehouse where Rin was torturing him. As Haru runs into the building, he and Rin see each other. He finds the plans for Tokyo Tower that Rin had adjusted and is surprised because they remind him of his dreams, but that cannot be possible since dreams aren't real.

When Rin visits him in the hospital, Haruhiko must face the fact that his dreams were real. He knew that in his previous life he had sentenced another person to several years of loneliness and misery because he had been jealous. Granted the person had done something terrible, but he still felt guilty. At first he claims to know nothing, but when Rin insists, he tells him he wanted to give them both the innaculation that would save them, but only had enough for one. He gave it to Shion as punishment.

Tamura comes to his house to talk to him and sees his past incarnation instead of Haru. Confused, Tamura tries to hold him, but Haru teleports away. The fact that he teleported while someone was holding him while not taking that person with shows what a powerful ESPer he is. Terrified of Shion’s wrath and extremely guilty, he tries to drown himself in the river so he won’t have to reincarnate, but Issei, who was walking by with Sakura, rescues him.

Rin knows who he is and plans on using him to get the passwords from the other people. Rin tells him about the meetings and insists that he attend, but not as Shukiado, since that is who he has claimed to be. Instead he will be Shion, seduce Alice, get her password, and take the blame for everything. He goes to the meeting, having written a letter to Tamura, but is surprised to see Sakura and Issei there as well. They explain what happened and Rin is surprised to learn that Haru tried to kill himself.

Rin takes Haru to the ocean and holds him under for a moment. He is obviously pissed off. He threatens to kill Tamura if he tells anyone, and that he should make no more suicide attempts. Now Haru is in real trouble because he has to get the letter back from Tamura in Kyoto. He tries to call, but Tamura isn’t home, so he tries to get there himself. He barely manages but he finds Takashi just getting home. He asks him to destroy the letter for Tamura’s safety, but when he catches Takashi with he mail, he opens the letter and reads what is inside.

He meets Jinpachi by chance one day and they have coffee together. After talking for a bit, Jinpachi realizes that he isn’t Shion and that he sounds a lot more like Shukaido. Haru slaps him and leaves, only to meet Mikuro at the aquarium. He isn’t aware that he is a friend of Tamura’s and when he finds a note telling him to be careful using his powers, he assumes that he is a friend of Rin’s.

When he confronts Rin about this, the boy realizes that he has contacted Tamura and goes to Kyoto to face him. He gets Tamura and “M” to meet him at a local temple, but Haru shows up in time to save them. Rin is powerful, but the combined effort of Mikuro and Haruhiko allows them to defeat Rin, though Haru is badly hurt.

He confesses everything and decides that he must atone for his past. He eventually confesses to the rest of the moon people, and Jinpachi is extremely angry at him for what he did to Shion. After Rin collects all the passwords and tries to access the base, only to learn that it was destroyed by plants fueled to grow by Mokuren’s song, he and Haru forgive each other. He moves away, but remains in contact with the others through Alice. Having atoned for his past life, he is on the road to recovery as his heart grows stronger.
