Mokuren

Mokuren (or Mokulen depending) is extremely beautiful, kind, and sometimes even a little silly. Everybody seems to love her because she is so beautiful and serene. She isn't a whispy woman, however, and she does get angry at people when they try to push her around. People also expect her to be a lot more powerful than she actually is since she is a Kitche Sarjilim (a priestess to the goddess Sarjalim). She has a strong will and a great deal of resolve. Also, she has a real sense of humor and doesn’t take herself too seriously.

Mokuren suffered much in her short lifetime. Born to two Sarjalians (people blessed by Sarjilim who have the ability to communicate with plants and animals), she lived with her parents in relative obscurity because they weren’t supposed to be together. When her parents became a couple, they lost their powers and had to leave "Paradise," the place where Sarjalians lived. She loved her parents and she learned much from them even though she was with them for only a short time. She is tricked and kidnapped from her parents and brought to paradise where she was forced to live.

Paradise wasn’t an unpleasant place to live, but she was separated from her parents and only wore clothes at special occasions. She didn't have her family but she did have people who cared about her. She had a "watcher" (a person who looked after her) named Moad who was kind of like a big sister. The head priestess seems amused by Mokuren and they end up close as well.

Also, she made a friend with a young boy while living there. To meet with him she wore her special clothes all the time, making Moad very suspecious because the clothes would ware out so quickly. His father worked in the circus which was a life Mokuren found exciting. One day the father was killed in an circus accident. When she found out, Mokuren wanted to do something to help him, but even with her powers there was nothing she could do. She went to the funeral but her friend only glared at her. She started to hate it when people overestimate her powers.

Eventually she found out about the mission to Earth--a planet that is immediately special to her because it reminds her of her father's eyes--and she convinced the priestesses to let her go on the mission. Moad was upset but she told Mokuren to go and that she wanted to be her watcher again when she returned.

She went on the mission, but faced trouble when three of the four men fell in love with her. Although she liked everyone, it was Shion that she came to love. Still, Shion had a lot of problems and eventually hurt her deeply. She protected him from the others but was slow to awaken because of that pain. All the fighting became unimportant when everyone started to get sick and die. She got sick after Shukaido died but she had a vision of the future where she was Alice and Shion was Rin. In the vision she sees Rin fall and she sweeps him up in her arms, saving his life. She died, telling Shion not to kill himself (and thus be unable to reincarnate) because they would be together on Earth in the future.
