Like many of the girls in Sailormoon, Hotaru experiences a sense of loneliness and isolation that is ultimately relieved when she finds her role among the senshi. Sailormoon and her daughter, Chibi Usa, play a very instrumental role in helping her develop into a happier person, though the other Outer Senshi cannot be forgotten either. These are the people that help make Hotaru the person she is and the person she becomes.
