This site was created on December 31, 2009 for the Amassment Girl Shrine Challenge.

The site title has a few different meanings. The first is the most obvious—Nuala eats flower petals. That, naturally, is only one aspect of the title meaning. The second is a reference to a song by Hole in which Courtney Love sings, “Tear the petals off of you, make you tell the truth.” In a sense, Morpheus deprives Nuala of her glamour—her petals that make her beautiful—but it is through her time without her glamour that she learns to face herself and see her own flaws, which ultimately makes her a stronger person in the end. There is also a game people play, pulling petals off of a flower as they say, “He loves me. He loves me not.” Whichever statement the person makes as she pulls the last petal determines whether the object of her affection returns her feelings. It’s the sort of game a person with an unrequited crush might play.
